Each spring, JRC members get out of the city to spend Friday to Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend with family and friends in a camp setting in Wisconsin. The weekend is filled with learning, praying, socializing, sports, singing, dancing, games, and lots of food! This treasured weekend creates and nurtures community wide connections that grow and thrive and follow us back to JRC!
JRC Adult Kallah is, quite simply, camp for adults! In addition to our traditional and untraditional celebration of Shabbat, every Kallah has been organized around a theme. The offerings have been designed to get us talking and thinking. And talk we do! From deep philosophical musings to personal reflections, we challenge and support each other as we build and strengthen our JRC adult community.
Every year, our 6th – 12th graders enjoy a great weekend with teens from JRC, Shir Hadash Reconstructionist, and other regional Reconstructionist congregations. The experience includes Shabbat services, a talent show, social action project, experiential Jewish learning, and time for hanging out with friends and making connections.
Older teens work, plan and lead many aspects of the weekend creating great opportunities for collaboration and connection.
