Shorashim are learning to separate from their grownups as they have their first independent preschool experience. We know this is a big step for both parents and children, and our caring teachers foster a gentle transition to ensure trust and confidence. We create a nurturing class community in which children grow and learn through play and exploration. Our Reggio-inspired, emergent curriculum evolves from children’s interests and integrates progressive Jewish values and traditions. Our community Shabbat with JRC’s clergy each Friday is a favorite! Shorashim’s small class size makes this a wonderful first preschool experience for JRC’s children and their families!

In the Kulanu class, children socialize, explore, and grow in an intimate community of learners. This unique mixed-age grouping fosters natural opportunities for leadership, peer learning, and collaboration. Our play-based approach is anchored in learning through self-directed discovery, experimentation, and problem solving. Emergent curriculum is developed in response to the interests of the group while also integrating progressive Jewish values and traditions. In Kulanu we celebrate all the Jewish holidays through stories, music, and hands on experiences. Shabbat services each week with our clergy make the children feel connected to our larger JRC community.
