Donate Items for the Auction

Each of us has something of significant value and interest to donate for our auction. Share something fun that you would like to win!

We’re looking for big-ticket items or unique cultural experiences such as event tickets (to arts, music, sports, or theater, etc.), behind-the-scenes tours, the use of a vacation home, or culinary adventures like cooking classes or dining. Think about the activities that you enjoy that others might want to try.

We’re also seeking more modest treats like gift cards to bookstores or local businesses, bakeries or restaurants, museums, salons, or theater. Consider donating artisanal treats, arts and crafts, or wine and cocktails. Reach out to your favorite local restaurants and businesses and ask them to donate—it’s great PR. Or you can buy gift cards (valued $25++) for local restaurants and businesses that you would like to support—and donate them to the auction, it’s a win-win all around!

Host a Buy-In Party!

Raising funds is a necessity for all synagogues but Buy-In Parties are uniquely JRC, where community and connectedness sustain us as much as the funds we need to thrive.

A Buy-In Party is a gathering that you (or you and co-hosts) host at a future date to help fundraise for JRC; people sign up to attend your event at the auction by buying a slot. This is a great way to meet fellow members, share something you enjoy, and support JRC all at the same time!

As a host, you organize and run the event, choosing the theme, place, date, and time, and the number of people who can attend. You (and your co-hosts) provide all the necessary supplies, refreshments, etc., and donate your costs for the event. We set the price per person based on the activity, and the proceeds go to JRC.

Not sure what to host? Try a wine or spirits tasting; movie, poker, or game night; bike and brunch outing; themed progressive dinner; hiking or yoga, cooking or craft class; marathon training run; art, garden, or house tour; SuperBowl, NBA Finals, World Series, or Oscars party. How about a party for kids and families?

Become an Underwriter

To ensure that our Spring Fling is financially sustainable, we are seeking special donors to help underwrite our costs. Underwriters receive complimentary tickets to the event as well as recognition in the JRC Gala communications. Underwriting begins at $500.
