This service is geared towards children 7 yrs. and younger\, along with their parents and grandparents\, but we think kids of all ages will love spending Shabbat with Morah Debbie! The ruach (spirit) and joy of a JRC Shabbat will stay with you in the week to come—t’s all about “fun Judaism”! \nNo need to register- just bring a blanket or lawn chairs. Join us for our Community Picnic following the service (bring your own picnic dinner most nights\, and some nights it’s a potluck)\, and after that\, we invite you to stay for our camp-like Shabbat evening service at 7 pm. Since then\, she has drawn on her training as a rabbi and historian to be the Reconstructionist movement’s leading voice in the public square. Waxman is a cum laude graduate of Columbia College\, Columbia University\, and was ordained by the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. She earned a Ph.D. in American Jewish history from Temple University.

Services will take place at Elliot Park (Lakeshore Blvd at Hamilton Street) in Evanston\, except for one Friday (to be determined!) when we will gather at Noah’s Playground (Sheridan Road at Central Street\, next to Lighthouse Beach.\n\nBring your own folding chair\, picnic blanket and don’t forget the Ruach! Services will be livestreamed on the JRC Facebook Page for those preferring to join us virtually.\n\nJRC’s Cantor Howard Friedland\, Rabbi David Eber\, and JRC lay leaders will lead these song-filled Shabbat services. Please join us in welcoming Shabbat each week on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan.\n\nPlease invite friends and family who are non-JRC members as well.
