Legacy Giving
The old man said: “I found a fruitful world, because my ancestors planted it for me. Likewise, I am planting for my children.” ~ Talmud Ta’anit 23a
At JRC, we learn, pray, celebrate, sing, act for social justice, create community, and share our lives. JRC’s diverse, daring and deeply-rooted Judaism makes our community unique.
Your legacy gift helps to sustain this special community from generation to generation, assuring JRC thrives for all those to come
A legacy gift (also called a planned, testamentary or deferred gift) is a charitable gift that you designate to be given to JRC in the future, typically after your lifetime. Examples include:
- making a bequest to JRC in your will or estate;
- naming JRC as beneficiary on IRAs; and
- naming JRC as beneficiary on life insurance, bank accounts or investment accounts.
These are easy steps to take; they do not require upfront payments and you can continue to use your assets as you choose. But by taking these steps, you make a powerful statement about your hope to support JRC’s future.
Each of us, regardless of age or wealth, has the power to leave a legacy for JRC, whether motivated by the generosity of those who came before, your commitment to this beloved community, or your hope that your children or others can benefit from being part of JRC.
Whatever your motivation, by planning for a legacy gift to JRC, you lay the foundation for a vibrant tomorrow and ensure that JRC can remain a welcoming, progressive, and dynamic Jewish community for all who seek it.

We have decided to create a legacy for JRC to help the congregation thrive into the future. We have designated a set percentage of our estate that will go to JRC. We have shared our wishes with our family and they support our decision. JRC has been a very important part of our lives for 48 years and we are hoping our legacy gift will positively impact many more people in the future.
We are committed to ensuring that JRC can continue to grow and thrive as a center for Jewish community, values and spirituality. Our legacy gift to JRC in our estate plan gives us the comfort of knowing that we are sustaining JRC for future generations.
