Bring Your Own “Picnic” in the Social Hall

We are moving tonight’s Lakefront Shabbat indoors to avoid unhealthy air. Join us at 6pm for a bring your own “picnic” in the social hall, followed by the service at 7pm.
Join us for a community Shabbat picnic and stay for our Lakefront Shabbat service. Bring your picnic dinner, and a blanket or chairs. No need to be a JRC member. All are welcome!
All summer long, JRC moves our sanctuary to the Evanston lakefront, with outdoor services surrounded by nature and the beauty of Lake Michigan. This spiritually uplifting (and child and dog-friendly) service feels a bit like summer camp, a bit like Ravinia, and entirely like JRC. Bring your family and friends. Lakefront Shabbat is a wonderful opportunity to learn about JRC. Tonight’s service will be on Zoom. We meet Fridays at Elliot Park with a few exceptions. Check our our evolving Lakefront Shabbat calendar. We’ll be adding details about musical accompanists and member d’var givers throughout the summer. Tonight’s service will be led by Cantor Howard Friedland with guest d’var teacher Marilyn Price. In addition to being a beloved JRC member, Marilyn is an award winning international storyteller, puppeteer, educator, and author.
