Shavuot Celebration

Shavuot: Layering, Spiritual, Agricultural, and Historic Time, Then and Now.
Using the Book of Ruth and the idea of Revelation at Mt Sinai, both major components of the holiday of Shavuot, we will explore the different lenses that gave us the Jewish calendar and how we mark meaningful time and relationships today. We’ll nosh on sweet dairy foods, and celebrate what keeps us Jewish today.
7-7:45 pm Receiving Torah ritual with singing, reading 10 commandments, with everyone having the opportunity to receive and all hold the Torah
7:45-8:00 pm Singing with Cantor Howard Friedland
8:00-8:15 pm Snack Break
8:15-9:30 pm Learning with Rabbi Rachel Weiss
