DID YOU KNOW?
Many beneficial bugs lay eggs that overwinter in the stems and underbrush of native prairie plants.
Now that spring is underway and the bugs have hatched, it is time to cut down last year’s growth of JRC’s URBAN PRAIRIE GARDEN and let the new growth come through. We need your help.
Please join members of the garden committee in our Urban Prairie Garden Spring Clean-up. We will be cutting last year’s tall growth, leaving it on the ground to create mulch for the soil. We will also begin pulling out the invasives to, hopefully, minimize their impact on the overall garden.
We have two dates of work:
Wednesday, April 17th from 9:00am-11:00am
Sunday, April 21, from 8:30am-11:30am
Come to one, come to both. Please come! Be part of getting JRC’s Urban Prairie Garden Landscape ready for its new growth.
