Young Family Shabbat at the Lake with Morah Debbie at Noah’s Playground

Each summer we select a special Shabbat to move our service to Noah’s Playground for Everyone, a fully accessible space where anyone can learn and play regardless of abilities. JRC members Julie and David Cutter raised the funds to build this inclusive space in memory of their son Noah, who was born with multiple disabilities and died at the age of two.
Noah’s Playground was designed with the input of therapists to allow children with physical limitations and sensory issues to have a playground they could enjoy, and as Julie says, it was also meant for typical kids. “The goal is for everyone to play there,” Highlights include a wheelchair-accessible climbing structure, seated swings and a Braille map. Bring your kids to enjoy the playground then join Morah Debbie for our Young Family service at 5:30!
Our Family Service begins at 5:30 near the picnic shelter. Play at the playground before or after!
The magical Morah Debbie will be leading a young family service EVERY Friday at 5:30. There will be singing, dancing, stories, prayers, friends, and nature. As we come to the end of a long, busy week, take a deep breath as a family and as a community. No need to register- Young Family Shabbat at the Lake with Morah Debbie is open to all! Feel free to bring your friends and family (and friendly dogs are welcome too!).
Debbie Heifitz Porter is truly captivating with children and families. She has years and years of early childhood experience and is a beloved Kehillah teacher at JRC.
